Charles J. Christesen 84 of Port Charlotte, Florida died on April 22, 2014 in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was born on May 31, 1929 in New York City to Charles N. Christesen and Marie Koza Christesen. He came to Port Charlotte, Florida from Long Island New York in 2010. Charles was a Pharmacist and owner of Salem Drugs located in Port Washington, New York for many years before his retirement. He was a member of Fordham Alumni, Amvets and served in the US marine Corps from 1946 until 1948. Charles attended St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene of 61 years of Port charlotte, Florida; his daughter, Sheryl (Bob) Tighe of Easton, Pennsylvania; his 2 sons, Steven (Robin) Christesen of Port Charlotte, Florida and Scott (Janet) Christesen of Huntington, New York; 2 sisters, Joan (Jack) Conroy of Naples, Florida and Rosalie Mayrose of Chicago, Illinois, his brother, John Christesen of New York also 6 grandchildren; he was preceded in death by his brother Donald (Ermine) Christesen of New Fairfield, Connecticut.
Visitation Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. with a scripture service at 7:00 P.M. at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte, Florida.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.”
